ABOUT CHRISSY

Thank you for checking out my portfolio! I appreciate that you took the time to look at my work. As you can see, I have a diverse range of skills. I enjoy doing pretty much anything creative!
I am a New England native, but I have lived in CA, FL, PA, and TN. I currently live in the Winston-Salem area of NC and plan to stay here.
I started as a designer in the '90s when I was living in Florida. I decided to go to college for "commercial art", as it was called back then. The tuition got to be too much and I was gearing up to leave. My instructor had faith in me, and when he found out, he hired me as his design assistant at his studio! I ended up working for him for several years while learning on the job. It was a great arrangement and jump-started my career. He is still a great friend to this day and I will forever be grateful.
Being thrown into the "real design world" so quickly, I became a fast and somewhat practical designer. Creating good, user-centric design as efficiently as possible has always been my primary goal. I enjoy the challenge of representing my clients' needs and budget in a timely manner.
Besides graphic design, I have a passion for marketing. I have found that I really enjoy the challenge of increasing a company's ROI. I am always looking for ways to be the best that I can be!
I make friends easily and I have great references from my past employers, and I still continue to do some side work for them on occasion. I'm thankful that they think enough of me to keep me in their loop.
In my personal life, I am a mom of two wonderful young men who also acquired creative genes. Both are aspiring musicians!
In my spare time, I like to innovate and make things. I even have a couple of US patents for inventions. You can see some of my creativity in the "My Crafty Side" category of my portfolio. I also resell vintage items and some of my crafts on Etsy when time allows. I also enjoy traveling, gardening, interior decorating, and thrifting.
Thank you again for stopping by! Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
